A look at the Beautiful  Spring Flowers

Akron, Ohio is a beautiful place to be in the spring.  Your Akron Florist Pam's Posies enjoys making fresh flower arrangements using these fresh beauties.  They bring the best of the season inside!  Here are some of our favorites.

Lily of the Valley:

This highly fragrant flower typically blooms in late spring, but it can bloom earlier in years with mild winters. With its delicate bell flowers it is a lovey accent in a floral arrangement.  With lace like qualities that  add texture the Lily of the Valley is also the flower of May.

Meaning humility, chastity, sweetness, purity and is said to bring luck in love. It also means "the return of happiness" which is the reason why it is often used as decorations in weddings.

Lilac Blooms:

This shrub fills the late spring garden with scent and color. Lilacs are very fragrant with delicate blossoms they are spectacular.  While they are considered a shrub, Lilacs are wonderful in flower arrangements. White lilacs symbolize purity and innocence. Violet lilacs symbolize spirituality. Blue lilacs mean happiness and tranquility. Magenta lilacs symbolize love and passion. Light purple  lilacs symbolizes a first love.  We can see why lilacs are a floral choice of many in the spring.

Peonies Flowers:

While considered to be part of the shrub family peonies have beautiful pastel pink, delicate whites and soft colors that are wonderful wedding flowers.  The blossoms are large in diameter making a wonderful statement piece. These shrubs carry the garden from late spring into summer.

Peonies are also used often in spring weddings.  They are whimsical, romantic and have a lot of potential. They are a favorite of brides and there is no question why year after year peonies continue to be a staple wedding flower.

Allium:

Often referred to as the flowering onion, the Allium is a beautiful spring blossom.  With a tall stem and  bright colored spherical bloom it is a beautiful accent in a garden or in a floral arrangement.  Just be careful when using allium in floral arrangements or in your garden, they can be toxic to your pets. Keep them away from your four legged friends when possible.
